New Contract Award – Loweswater Bridge

Stobbarts Limited are pleased to announce the award and completion of a temporary bridge installation in Loweswater. Instructed and awarded by the national trust. This was a high priority project and the team were given 12 days for project completion. Stobbarts Limited managed to complete the work within 6 days and within budget.

New Contract Award – St Bees School

Stobbarts Limited are pleased to announce they have been awarded the contract for refurbishment to the Housemasters House at St Bees School, working on behalf of the school.

The refurbishment work will entail new kitchen and bathroom suites, new floor coverings and redecoration throughout.

Work commenced November 2017 with completion due before Christmas.

New Contract Award – Keswick Town Hall

Stobbarts Ltd are pleased to announce they have been awarded the contract for refurbishment works at Keswick Town Hall, working on behalf of Allerdale Borough Council.

The refurbishment work will include the repair of plaster work, redecoration and new floor coverings internally. Externally gutter repairs will be carried out to prevent water ingress into the building.

Work is due to commence on the 25th September 2017.

New Contract Award – Whitehaven Library

Stobbarts Ltd are pleased to announce they have been awarded the contract for work on the ceiling at the Whitehaven Library, working on behalf of Cumbria County Council.

The current Victorian ceiling is in need of repair, so additional supports will be added and further works will be carried out to make the ceiling safe for the future. On completion of the repairs, the ceiling will be redecorated. Additional precautions will be required throughout the works as the library will need to remain open for the duration of the works.

The work is due to commence early September 2017.

Summer School Works – Completion

Stobbarts Ltd were required to carry out works at several schools over the summer holidays on behalf of Cumbria County Council. This required work to be undertaken at different sites across Cumbria , including at Orgill School in Egremont, Askam School in Askam-in-Furness, St. Joseph’s School in Workington and Moor Row. The work was as varied as the locations, with new heating systems being fitted, replacement suspended ceilings and the refurbishment of multiple classrooms.

As with all school works, a deadline was set for work to be complete before the students returned from their holidays at the start of September. Stobbarts Ltd met this deadline, ensuring both the safety of the students, with no work being carried out during term time, and providing them with improved facilities in which to learn on their return.

New Contract Award – Bowderstone Bothy

Stobbarts Ltd are pleased to announce they have been awarded the contract for work on the Bowderstone Bothy, Borrowdale, working on behalf of the Lake District Calvert Trust.

After taking on the lease of the Bowderstone Bothy, there was a requirement to adapt the bothy and make it wheelchair accessible. Stobbarts Ltd will undertake door widening throughout, the installation of access ramps, low-level shower rooms and a new kitchen. Further works will include installing a new electrical and fire alarm system.

Works are due to start in Mid-June and complete mid-August.
